What is the eBook Protection against fraudulent downloads?

You have to protect your intellectual property. eBook protection against fraudulent downloads is not well understood.

The Google, Yahoo, Ask and Live search engine count for 95% of spider searching and web sites indexing. This is good because the spiders read and rank every page against secret algorithms. So search engines make your and mine web pages available to millions of Internet users.

In just one case you do not want spiders to read and index your e-Book downloading page. The downloading page should be found through an unique link only after the payment is accepted. This is the eBook protection.

Look how many leave their digital product unprotected.

You have in fact bypassed the payment page, and found the actual downloading location. I hope you wouldn’t actually download what you find, this was only to show how the back door is often left open!

This is a common mistake for beginners. They upload an e-Book to the SBI servers, and sometime later discover the download page is indexed!

The usual advice is to place within your HTML file at the head section a META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW" meta tag between <>, but that is not for all cases.

What will do the rest of us who just are building blocks with SBI?

1. If you want your page to be safer don't give it a filename like thank-you-page.html, make something up.

2. Also it will be more secure for you if you change the filename every so often in case you get any customers that give away your url. If you do this remember to change/edit your thank you page's details in your ClickBank account.

3. Put your text onto an image instead. And avoid the word "thank you" in the title and file name.

4. For building blocks in SBI you put:

   </p><p>no keyword, tag"><META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW"></p><p>

   into the keyword block.

   (Ignore the p and /p. They are here because I used textarea HTML code)!

   You may use also "not indexed, tag" instead of "no keyword, tag" as pseudo keywords. This will appears in the Search HQ's keyword column thereby preventing the column from appearing skewed, and also serves as an indicator for me that the page is with "no keyword" or "not indexed."

   Use all other blocks as you normally would.

5. For SBI building blocks the next advice is: Do not include “yourdownloadpage.html” in RSS/Blog It!

Will this codes stop spiders indexing? So far YES!
